Qualifying – WC#4 – Mont Sainte Anne

The Mont Sainte Anne course is long and is what many riders say a 'proper' race track should be like. Sam Hill came back from injury to win the World Championships' here in 2010 so you know he can perform on this track! Eighth in qualifying. Photo: Jacob Gibbins

World Cup number four and it is time for the North American rounds of the series, this week we are in Canada on the infamous Mont Sainte Anne course. This place is legendary, the track is long, fast and rough. TheAtrack itself is 2.83km’s longAand the average speed for qualifying was 40.38 kmph! Finals – WC#3 – Fort William

Jared Graves styling it up over the infamous jump into the finish arena, 76th is not the position Jared is aiming for though! His biggest challenge coming back to race downhill has been the arm pump, he struggles to hold on for a full run. On such rough World Cup tracks, like Fort William, you have to be able to hold on for near on five minutes! Photo: Jacob Gibbins

Another World Cup and another win for Aaron Gwin, this time it wasn’t as big a winning margin as we have seen from Aaron. It was an interesting race with the weather creating havoc for many riders. There were plenty of surprises with some riders doing extremely well while others really struggled.

Qualifying at Fort William is all wrapped up and there were a few interesting results! The top spots were dominated by the local riders all keen to win their home world cup. A few other riders have also put their hands up to challenge for the win, with the top 20 separated by less than ten seconds, this race looks like it is going to be the closest of the season so far.

Practice – WC#3 – Fort William

Fort William has been a track of polar opposites for Sam Hill, highs such as winning the 2007 World Championships here have been contrasted by the season ending crash he suffered here a few years ago. Lets hope this weekend is another high! Photo: Jacob Gibbins

World Cup number 3 is upon us, Fort William has been a regular on the World CupAcalendar for years now. While the track hasn’t had dramatic changes it will still require riders to be on their toes. The biggest changes are found at the bottom of the track where riders (after surviving the top part of the track) will have to negotiate some big moto style jumps as they head into the finish.

Inside Info: Connor Fearon – Val di Sole

Full race report from Connor Fearon and his experience at Val di Sole. Photo: Jacob Gibbins

Have a read of how Connor described his week at Val di Sole including what happened during his race run;

After round one in South Africa we had a two month break to go home and relax. I wouldnat get this opportunity through the rest of the season, so I trained pretty hard at home. The next trip would be almost 4 months long with 6 World cups. The first was Val Di Sole which I was looking forward to. I had my best result of 2011 there and I really liked the track…
