We finally got to see riders on track today.

Day 2 here in Cairns and the first day of practice, the riders were all chomping at the bit! The conditions were dry and dusty, a thick layer of dirt was covering everything by the time practice was finished. It was hard to pick the fastest rider as everyone was pushing hard, there a few crashes nothing too major – unfortunately junior French rider Sylvain Cougoureux took a hard crash in the rock garden and it looked like he sustained a broken wrist. Remember when the sun was out, the skies blue and the days were long? We do and so do Connor Fearon and Timmy Eaton. With Connor having just dealt with the wind and rain of France and Timmy the freezing temperatures of Canberra, we thought we would post a few pics from earlier this year. With the whole ‘van life’ movement getting increasingly popular we thought we would have a brief look at their vans, both are set up to haul bikes yet have beds, storage and plenty of room for other activities! We headed up to Toowoomba in Queensland for the 4th and final round of the National series, which also doubled as the Oceania Championships. It is not the first time the track had held a major mountain bike event so many racers knew what they were in for.
