Loic Bruni was back for this race after injury and whilst stating he was using it to get back up to speed 3rd in the finals show he must be pretty close back to 100%.[/caption]

With dry temperatures there was a lot of dust about, a storm did come through over night and there was a decent amount of rain with it but the track just absorbed it up. Qualifying saw the top 4 senior men match the world cup standings! 1. Gwin 2. Hart 3. Brosnan 4. Minnaar but with every race it is always the finals that matter.

After seeding first Jackson Frew finished 11th in junior men with the rest of the Australians putting in varied results. In the womens’ race we were ecstatic to see Tegan Molloy sneak into the top 10 (in 10th) and Tracey Hannah was second! It was Rachel Atherton who took the win and with it the overall series. Senior men’s finals saw Loic Bruni take the hot seat early, his time stood for a long time, what was obvious was that the length of the track meant that there were some large gaps between places. Loic would eventually go onto finish 3rd, with the top four left it looked like Luca Shaw might grab his maiden podium. Greg Minnaar couldn’t take the hot seat and with it guaranteed Luca a podium.

Troy Brosnan came down and couldn’t best Loic who was still in the hot seat, next was Danny Hart and you could visibly see him pushing the boundaries of his tyres, drifting corners. He came through and the timing board was green! One rider left, fastest qualifer, Aaron Gwin, watching the splits it was close but in the end Danny Hart took his second consecutive world cup and denied Aaron Gwin the chance to take the overall series in Canada.

Troy Brosnan finished 4th keeping up his consistency.

The overall series is still alive with one round to go!

Lenzerheide World Cup a�� Finals

Another beautiful day dawned in Switzerland for racing.

A few notes from the day; there were plenty of crashes – with such high speeds and tight times this was inevitable, Tracey Hannah as an example, there were a few mechanicals, Brook MacDonald was a rider who succumbed to this.

Brook MacDonald unfortunately had a mechanical which bumped him out of the top 20 into 25th.

However there was plenty of positive notes as well, let’s take a look at some of them:

Despite a very average run filled with mistakes (according to Troy himself) 6th still went to Troy Brosnan. We were happy to see adopted Australian Luca Shaw one position behind in 7th.

Loris Vergier commented how there is people expecting more from him now that Loic Bruni is out with an injury. We think 21st place shows he can handle it just fine.

Jumping back to the juniors Jackson Frew claimed a 6th continuing his strong season.

It was Finn Illes taking his 3rd world cup win in the juniors.

Last rider to come down the course, Tahnee Seagrave went hell for leather and delivered the closest female race we have seen for some time, she ended up second behind Rachel Atherton by just 0.7 of a second.

Rachel Atherton is in a class of her won at the moment but even as she knows the chasing pack is closing!

Sam Hill was further back then he would have liked, no doubt.

Gee Atherton, always a threat but not today.

Adam Brayton is having a great season, 12th place.

Connor Fearon grabbed a 5th place cementing his top 10 in the overall at the moment.

Remi Thirion came down and looked fast, he ended up 4th.

Never count out Greg Minnaar, he took 3rd place.

Behind at every split but lowering the deficit as he neared the bottom it wasn't until he crossed the finish line we saw green on the timing board and the place erupted! After four 2nd place finishes and of course a world championships win there was never any doubt Danny had the pedigree of a winner! — Finally! Danny Hart has claimed his maiden World Cup victory and wow what a way to do it! Behind at every split but lowering the deficit as he neared the bottom it wasn’t until he crossed the finish line we saw green on the timing board and the place erupted! After four 2nd place finishes and of course a world championships win there was never any doubt Danny had the pedigree of a winner!

The next world cup sees us jetting across the globe to Canada and of course Mont Sainte Anne, a legendary track on its own.

For round 3 of the Inside Line South Australian State series we were back at the ever faithful Fox Creek – we were last there for the National Enduro round. This race was dedicated to men’s health week which was a fitting show of support. We were fortunate enough to have some great photographers on the (wet) ground to bring you all some images from the day! Results can be found on the Inside Line website, enjoy:

Leogang World Cup – Finals

After a wet qualifying race day dawned and we were greeted with relatively dry conditions, due to the amount of moisture in the ground it meant it would still be wet for early morning practice and then racing after. We have put together some images of the action, check it out!

It was great to see Aussies doing so well over the weekend.

Tahnee Seagrave claimed second place after missing Fort William last week.

This jump was one of the best features on the track.

Aaron Gwin took the win by 3.1 seconds, with Loris Vergier taking second, his best result to date.

Troy Brosnan finished 3rd after taking the hot seat when he crossed the line.

There is a short break until the next world cup, what will this race hold?!

Leogang World Cup 4 – Day 1

Ah Leogang, one of the most picturesque tracks on the circuit, easy to see why!

We are back in Austria for the Leogang world cup, one of our favourite races on the calendar. We are Snapchatting the race – so make sure you follow us @downhill247. The mountains provide an idyllic background but more importantly mean there is some elevation to play with on the track. The track itself has some noticeably different sections, varying from hardpack bike path like parts to rooty, loamy, earthy sections. The weather for the track walk was dark and wet, with mud the dominating factor.

The organisers have carved the names of the previous winners and placed them along the side of the track including this touching tribute to Stevie Smith.

For practice the sun came out and the skies were blue, this meant the track started to dry up, it was still boggy in parts, especially for group B who practiced earlier in the day. It was Troy Brosnan who was fastest in timed practice by some 4 seconds, qualifying will be the first real test of speed.
