What a race, who would have thought Danny Hart would crash in his race run from pushing so hard?! After washing out in a corner Danny continued down the track, even throwing in a whip but this couldn't hide his disappointment.

What a race the first race of the series turned out to be. It’s always hard to pick a winner as no one is 100% sure what the riders have been up to in their off season.

Seeding – WC#1 – Pietermaritzburg

As predicted Troy Brosnan was Australia's fastest seeder at the first World Cup of the year, he seeded in fifth place, 2.27 seconds behind fastest seeder, local Greg Minnaar.

The World Cup season has kicked off in mainly sunny South Africa, the field is not that large obviously due to the location but after all this is the World series. 159 men and 27 women signed up for the race, seeding has been run and the results are in:

2012 Oceania Championships’ – Rotorua New Zealand

The 2012 Oceania Championships’ were held in Rotorua, on a track that many riders’, said was one of the best race tracks they have raced on. Conditions varied over the weekend with rain falling in the finals on Sunday. Many ofA�Australia’s Elite riders were preparing for the first World Cup in South Africa and didn’t make the trip over to race. A�Australia’s highest Elite Men’s finish was thirteenth, Junior Men were better represented and Australia claimed three out of the top five places.
