The UCI had some interesting rules at the World Championships this year (and they have had them in the past as well). That to film atA�the ChampionshipsA�(for commercial reasons) you had to pay a substantial fee. It caused quite a commotion, the industryA�wanted their teams to get the exposure and fans wanted to see the action!A�The policyA�didn’t seem constructive for the sport, part of the reason there has already been such strong support for the new DH1 series…

Eagle Park Race Report 1st & 2nd October 2011
The 2011 South Australian State Champs were held at Eagle Mountain bike park on the long weekend. This would be a good shake-down event before the 2012 National Champs are held here and interstate riders made the trek over to get some extra practice on the course.

Matti Lehikoinen Seriously Injured!
News has come to hand that Matti Lehikoinen has had a serious crash at a downhill race in Norway. Initial reports suggest he has been cleared of brain damage but will require surgery for facial injuries. Matti is genuinely one of the nicest riders on the circuit but since finishing second overall in the 2007 World Cup series, he has been plagued by injuries that have hidden his true talent on a bike. More news as we get it, all the best Matti!
