Pick of the Pics!

So that they don’t go to waste we have created ‘Pick of the Pics’, this section will feature pics from World Cups, Nationals, Local races or just riders downhilling on any given day at their local track. West Australia State Champs

The Western Australian State downhill Champs were held on the 23rd of October at Dwellingup. The track looked like a blast to ride with a decent double near the top and a mix of corners, rocks and jumps on the rest of the course.

Round 1 Vic DH Series – You Yangs

Round 1 of the 2011-12 Victorian DH series was held at You Yangs on track 10, more commonly known as ‘Turbulence’. The track could be described as a flat out blast down a hill with some big jumps and tricky rock sections, not much in the way of tight or technical riding meant that it was going to favour the fitter and stronger riders but still be a lot of fun for everyone else.

The top sixteen Elite Men were only separated by about 3 seconds! Talk about close. Look at Dean Lucas’ time in Under 19! Fastest time of the day by almost a full second, on such a tight track,A�that’s super impressive. Full report up on the site soon. Thanks to JL Media for the results.

What is happening to international downhill racing in 2012?!

Today it was announced a third major UCI approvedA�downhill series will be run in 2012. The iXS Downhill Cup has been running for many years now (you may remember Josh Button finished second overall in 2011A�andA�Troy Brosnan won theA�Leogang round earlier in the year against a pretty heavily stacked Senior Mens Field) and is now the official UCI European Series.
