A few notes from the day; there were plenty of crashes – with such high speeds and tight times this was inevitable, Tracey Hannah as an example, there were a few mechanicals, Brook MacDonald was a rider who succumbed to this.

However there was plenty of positive notes as well, let’s take a look at some of them:
Despite a very average run filled with mistakes (according to Troy himself) 6th still went to Troy Brosnan. We were happy to see adopted Australian Luca Shaw one position behind in 7th.Loris Vergier commented how there is people expecting more from him now that Loic Bruni is out with an injury. We think 21st place shows he can handle it just fine.Jumping back to the juniors Jackson Frew claimed a 6th continuing his strong season.Harry Bush nailed 5th an impressive effort and we can’t wait to see what the juniors can produce at the World Championships!It was Finn Illes taking his 3rd world cup win in the juniors.Carina Cappellari riding the top berms.Manon Carpenter sailing one of the big jumps on the course.Last rider to come down the course, Tahnee Seagrave went hell for leather and delivered the closest female race we have seen for some time, she ended up second behind Rachel Atherton by just 0.7 of a second.Rachel Atherton is in a class of her won at the moment but even as she knows the chasing pack is closing!Sam Hill was further back then he would have liked, no doubt.Gee Atherton, always a threat but not today.Loic Bruni watching from track-side, you can bet he would rather be between the tape!Steve Peat and that paint job…Adam Brayton is having a great season, 12th place.Connor Fearon grabbed a 5th place cementing his top 10 in the overall at the moment.Remi Thirion came down and looked fast, he ended up 4th.Never count out Greg Minnaar, he took 3rd place.After a crash in qualifying Aaron Gwin came down much earlier than he is used to! He went into the hot seat where he spent near on an hour, only the last rider displaced him!Finally! Danny Hart has claimed his maiden World Cup victory and wow what a way to do it! Behind at every split but lowering the deficit as he neared the bottom it wasn’t until he crossed the finish line we saw green on the timing board and the place erupted! After four 2nd place finishes and of course a world championships win there was never any doubt Danny had the pedigree of a winner!
The next world cup sees us jetting across the globe to Canada and of course Mont Sainte Anne, a legendary track on its own.
You know when a rider of Steve Peat’s caliber is getting excited about a track it is something special.
If you have been following Steve Peat on Instagram @stevepeat you would have seen what he has been up to during the break between races. Aside from just having a good time and being the god father of mountain biking he has been spending some time inA�Lenzerheide, Switzerland. These pictures immediately piqued our interest as the track looks steep and fast! With Champery a few hours down the road are we in for another classic course? Let’s hope so, we have to wait until 2015 to find out as the world cup stops in to the town then.
You know when the track builders include the Swiss master Cloudio Caluori that it is going to be a good one.
Unfortnately we don’t have a whole lot more information on the track yet but we knew we needed to share what we could with you guys. The prospect of seeing the world’s best tear down a ‘proper’ track have us salivating, be sure once we know more we will let you know!
Even Sam Hill picked up on Steve’s post asking about it he was pretty stoked to find out he would be heading there next year!
