Another beautiful day dawned in Switzerland for racing.

A few notes from the day; there were plenty of crashes – with such high speeds and tight times this was inevitable, Tracey Hannah as an example, there were a few mechanicals, Brook MacDonald was a rider who succumbed to this.

Brook MacDonald unfortunately had a mechanical which bumped him out of the top 20 into 25th.

However there was plenty of positive notes as well, let’s take a look at some of them:

Despite a very average run filled with mistakes (according to Troy himself) 6th still went to Troy Brosnan. We were happy to see adopted Australian Luca Shaw one position behind in 7th.

Loris Vergier commented how there is people expecting more from him now that Loic Bruni is out with an injury. We think 21st place shows he can handle it just fine.

Jumping back to the juniors Jackson Frew claimed a 6th continuing his strong season.

It was Finn Illes taking his 3rd world cup win in the juniors.

Last rider to come down the course, Tahnee Seagrave went hell for leather and delivered the closest female race we have seen for some time, she ended up second behind Rachel Atherton by just 0.7 of a second.

Rachel Atherton is in a class of her won at the moment but even as she knows the chasing pack is closing!

Sam Hill was further back then he would have liked, no doubt.

Gee Atherton, always a threat but not today.

Loic Bruni watching from track-side, you can bet he would rather be between the tape!

Adam Brayton is having a great season, 12th place.

Connor Fearon grabbed a 5th place cementing his top 10 in the overall at the moment.

Remi Thirion came down and looked fast, he ended up 4th.

Never count out Greg Minnaar, he took 3rd place.

After a crash in qualifying Aaron Gwin came down much earlier than he is used to! He went into the hot seat where he spent near on an hour, only the last rider displaced him!

Finally! Danny Hart has claimed his maiden World Cup victory and wow what a way to do it! Behind at every split but lowering the deficit as he neared the bottom it wasn't until he crossed the finish line we saw green on the timing board and the place erupted! After four 2nd place finishes and of course a world championships win there was never any doubt Danny had the pedigree of a winner! — Finally! The next world cup sees us jetting across the globe to Canada and of course Mont Sainte Anne, a legendary track on its own.

Welcome to Lenzerheide! A picturesque town in Switzerland and home of World Cup #4.

If downhill was a novel then 2015 would be a book full of twists and sub plots, sure while the race winners have been pretty much the ‘established’ riders the rest of the podium positions/top 20 have been going to some different faces!

With Steve Peat overlooking the tracks design and construction you could be sure racers were in good hands. The total bill to build this tack was in the hundreds of thousands!

Practice, qualifying and racing all took there toll. With Andrew Neethling, Brendan Fairclough, Josh Bryceland, Jack Moir (who did our #15secondtrackwalk from this round) and Andrew Crimmins all scored some pretty dramatic injuries of one type or another over the course of the week. In some cases, such as Andrews' they could still race, in other cases like Jacks' it was home for surgery/rehab. — Practice, qualifying and racing all took there toll. Brendan Fairclough still managed to lay down plenty of style! (and speed, he finished 15th in a stacked field).

Sam Hill was back, even before his doctor said he should be, so he was using this race to get some 'race feel'. The next round takes us to Mont Saint Anne where Sam has won countless times before. Stevie Smith was another rider who is/was on the comeback. He snuck into the top 10 with 9th place but you know he wants to get back on the podium. Again we feel Mont Saint Anne will be his springboard.

The female podium, featuring a disappointed Emmeline Ragot in 5th who qualified fastest but crashed in her race run. Morgan Charre in 4th who hasn't seen the podium for longer than she would have liked. Third place went to Tracey Hannah who is moving up the overall rankings with consistent results. A very relieved Mannon Carpenter in 2nd, this year has not been kind to her. By now you would have no doubt seen the results of the race, unfortunately for anyone trying to stream the race there were some technical issues during the men’s finals but at least the coverage is free and they rectified the problem before the end.
