AA After qualifying on Friday riders had an extra day to come to terms with the track during Saturday practice. For some riders it was a chance to consolidate their runs, others such as Josh Bryceland, needed the day to rest their injuries.
AA For racing the majority of the track was dry and dusty. The expectation was that come finals times would drop but no one was sure by how much. Missing in action for Australia was Jared Graves who had originally planned to race the downhill but a cut to his hand from a glass left him a spectator for the weekend. The feeling allAweekend wasAthat Aaron Gwin was going to do itAat his home race and come finals he got the job done. After being on a blinder of a run then crashingAhere last year, Steve Peat kept it upright to take second. Troy Brosnan continued his stellar season with an 8th place, the best of the Aussies.
