The UCI had some interesting rules at the World Championships this year (and they have had them in the past as well). That to film atAthe ChampionshipsA(for commercial reasons) you had to pay a substantial fee. It caused quite a commotion, the industryAwanted their teams to get the exposure and fans wanted to see the action!AThe policyAdidn’t seem constructive for the sport, part of the reason there has already been such strong support for the new DH1 series…
For example, at this years Worlds, DirtTV were filming in the pits for their Facebook section but got their press pass revoked and were asked to leave the event. They weren’t even filming any riding and were told if they wanted to film it would be 20,000 Euros! Common sense prevailed and they had their pass re-instated but it certainly had some people left shaking their heads at the UCI. Fortunately downhill247.com has come across some amateur footage from Troy’s seeding run, the speed Troy comes through is amazing. It’s a shame as not even Troy’s World Championship winning run has seen the light of day, making footage like this, quite rare when really it should be there for all to see. Enjoy.
